The University of Illinois at Chicago Pediatrics Residency Program would like to honor the memory of Dr. Chaniece Wallace through support of our local Reach Out and Read program.
Dr. Wallace was passionate about primary care pediatrics and the critically important relationship between reading and early childhood development. Getting books into the hands of our patients during visits with the pediatrician is even more critical this year as families continue to navigate home learning and financial hardship. Dr. Wallace was a Pediatric Chief Resident at Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Children’s Hospital and tragically was yet another woman of color lost to complications related to preeclampsia.
